Celebrate St. Patrick's Day this year by making a shamrock necklace. This is a great craft for kids that gives them something fun and personal to show off as they wear their creations on St. Patrick's Day. Here are the directions for making a shamrock necklace.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Green construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Colors
  • Markers
  • Glitter glue pen
  • Ribbon or yarn
  1. Step 1

Draw shamrock shapes on green construction paper. You can either make all your shapes varying sizes or cut out one and trace the others. Cut all your shamrock shapes from the construction paper.

  2. Step 2

Decorate your shamrocks. Use markers, colors and glitter pens to decorate the shamrocks. You may want to decorate each one the same or use a different design on each shamrock. Some decorating ideas include outlining each shamrock with glitter, coloring a rainbow or coloring each shamrock a different color.

  3. Step 3

Punch holes at the top of each shamrock. Thread a ribbon or yarn through each hole. Tie knots on each side of the shamrock so it can't move. Measure how long you want your necklace to hang, and then tie the ends together to make the necklace complete.

  4. Step 4

Continue the fun by making a bracelet to go with your shamrock necklace. Cut out much smaller shamrock shapes. Decorate them like you did for the necklace. Punch holes, string them and measure your wrist to create a matching shamrock bracelet.
