Decorate for St. Patrick's Day with a lucky rainbow. This is a fun craft that is perfect for kids to make. With just a few supplies, you can make a beautiful rainbow decoration with a lot of color and texture.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Large paper plate
  • Small paper plate
  • Scissors
  • Colored tissue paper
  • Pencil
  • Glue
  • Cotton balls
  • Hole puncher
  • Ribbon
  1. Step 1

Cut a large paper plate in half. Cut out an arch shape in the half of the plate. Leave the arch about 3 inches wide. Use a smaller plate to trace the arch shape of the rainbow.

  2. Step 2

Gather tissue paper in red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Cut the tissue into 2-inch squares. You need about 30 squares of each color to fully cover each row of your lucky rainbow.

  3. Step 3

Wrap the tissue around the eraser end of a pencil loosely. Add a drop of glue to the tip and press it onto the plate. Keep the tissues in the appropriate row of colors in the rainbow. Place the tissue squares close together to create a full rainbow.

  4. Step 4

Fluff several cotton balls. Put drops of glue at the end of your lucky rainbow. Place the cotton balls on the glue drops. Add more cotton balls to make fluffy clouds.

  5. Step 5

Punch a hole in the top of your rainbow. Thread a bright colored ribbon through the hole. Tie the ribbon in a bow or knot at the top. You can now hang your lucky St. Patrick's Day rainbow from a doorknob or from the ceiling.
