If you are looking for a little something to spice up the photographs and cherished memories of your loved ones, a mosaic picture frame may be the perfect solution. These projects are fun to make, aren't terribly expensive, and make a great way to dress up the gift of treasured family photos. Continue reading to learn how to make one for yourself or as a gift for that special someone.
Things You'll Need
- Picture frame
- Colored tiles
Clean a sizable work area and make sure that the tabletop beneath is protected with newspaper or some sort of protective covering. This is not the cleanest of all craft projects, but it is a lot of fun and one that you can invite helping hands in creating.
Create a tile pattern. Draw a replica of the frame and place the tiles on that piece and trace the location of the tiles. Use the picture as a guide.
Pour glue into a flat container so that you can dip the tiles in the glue before attaching them to the frame. This is simply a time-saving step and nothing more.
Dip the tiles in the glue then attach them, in the order of your pattern. Once all tile pieces have been attached, set it aside to dry. The result is a beautiful mosaic picture frame to keep for yourself or give as a gift.
Tips & Warnings
- Old baby food lids, lids from butter containers, and even old plastic storage containers (doesn't everyone have a stack of these lids laying around) work well for glue containers.
