How to Be a Lisa Simpson Fan

The Simpsons cartoon is a long-running piece of popular American entertainment that has chronicled the dysfunctional antics of the Simpson family. Perhaps the smartest of the smart in this contemporary classic is little Lisa Simpson, the younger sister of the nefarious Bart, and perhaps the intellectual center of the entire series. Being her fan requires very little other than an appreciation of wit and permanently spiky hair.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Schedule a time and place to enjoy your cartoon viewing in peace. The Simpsons are not for philistines; we're talking quality satire here.
Step2
Pay attention to Lisa's subversive comments. She is never satisfied with the merely droll when a real zinger trembles somewhere on the comedic horizon.
Step3
Perch your reading glasses in place while viewing the show. It never hurts to assume the trappings of your favorite cartoon heroine.
Step4
Plan for Halloween costume parties. Surely Lisa revels in the darkest of our popularly celebrated holidays.
Step5
Purchase a heavy book satchel to contain the numerous tomes you doubtless lug around to stay up to date on all of Lisa's sly intellectual references.
Step6
Buy a saxophone and practice. Perhaps one day you might be Lisa's side man or lady.
Step7
Remember that your Lisa fix can likely be met more than just the weekly dose as many television stations now regular run the earlier seasons in syndication.
Step8
Call your friends over at least once a week for The Simpsons. Peer pressure can be a wonderful thing.
