The South Beach Diet is based on controlling insulin levels. When levels are controlled you are less likely to crave certain foods especially carbohydrates. It helps prevent overeating. Insulin levels are controlled by eating foods which have low sugar content and are high in fiber. The South Beach Diet is different from other low carbohydrates diets because it does not allow unhealthy fats.
