Ever dreamed of being an astronaut and flying in a rocket? Why not start smaller? Launch a model rocket. There's several available, including those fueled by hydrogen. Read this eHow to learn how to use a hydrogen fuel rocket set.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Set up your launcher. This should be in a nice, open space, far from buildings or trees. Insert your batteries into the tray, being certain to follow the directions, and tightly fasten the caps.

  2. Step 2

Fill the fuel generator to the center ring with tap water. Do not pour water on the igniter. Do not overfill and do not cover the igniter. Carefully wipe the fuel generator dry.

  3. Step 3

Insert the fuel generator into the base and tighten it. Be careful not to cross-thread it (thread it so that the threads do not match up).

  4. Step 4

Attach the launch tube onto the top of the generator. Be gentle, and do not tighten it too much or apply too much force.

  5. Step 5

Slide the rocket down the launch tube. Make certain the O-ring of the launch tube is properly in place.

  6. Step 6

    Turn the switch to "on."

  7. Step 7

Wait for launch tone to sound, pull the launch cord and keep it taut until the rocket launches.

  8. Step 8

Press the launch button. Depress it until the rocket launches. Be safe and watch your rocket during its flight to determine where it lands.

Tips & Warnings
  • Let the rocket sit for 15 minutes after putting in the water. This allows the most hydrogen to be produced.
