Playing games online can be fun and also a good learning experience for your child. But when your child is on the Internet, you must make sure that the website is a safe place for your child to visit. Treat the Internet just as you would your local playground. Make sure there aren't any places where your child can chat with strangers or any links that would lead your child elsewhere. Try well-known TV network websites such as Disney, Nick Jr or PBS, that design child-friendly websites for safe playing and plenty of fun learning.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access
  • A knowledge of the Internet to keep your child safe
  1. Step 1

Use a search engine to find children's games to play. Browse with search engines such as Google, Yahoo or msn. Try using terms such as "free online games for kids" or "online children games."

  2. Step 2

Browse through the website on your own first, before letting your child play on the game site. Make sure there are not any other links that your child can link back to that will take them to websites that you do not want them on.

  3. Step 3

Choose games that are age appropriate for your child and also have a skill level in which your child can play.

  4. Step 4

Sit with your child as she plays the games until she has the hang of it. Explain the directions, and answer any questions that she may have.

  5. Step 5

Add the game websites that you and your child both agree on to your favorites list, so they will be easy to access for future game play.
