Whether you love poker, blackjack, Go Fish or Old Maid, you can play card games online. Many sites offer single player or multi-player card games. You can even pretend gamble or, in some cases, gamble for money. Play card games online and have Poker Night every night.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Know that your own computer may have built-in card games to play alone or online with an opponent. Check out card games like solitaire if you have a Windows operating system. Find different versions of solitaire, like FreeCell, on some computers.

  2. Step 2

Realize that many websites offer card games but be wary and avoid giving out your credit card number or other personal information without making sure you're in a safe and legit website environment.

  3. Step 3

Find websites like The House of Cards or Buzzle.com to play card games online, and pick a few you think you'd enjoy (see Resources below). See that some sites promote gambling while other sites provide only a game playing environment where no gambling takes place.

  4. Step 4

Watch out for websites that allow you to continue to play card games online with annoying or rude players that you can't block or ignore. Look for web sites that have options for avoiding obnoxious people. Avoid arguing with opponents since you never know who's on the other side of the net. Remember, it's just better to leave or log out--it's just a game.

  5. Step 5

Understand that most people who play card games online are polite. Play card games online and get to know other players who enjoy the challenge of cards.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be careful who you give credit card information too. Check for secure sites. If in doubt about a site, either find out as much as you can about the website before providing personal and financial information, or simply use a different website.
  • Keep in mind that, like live gaming, online gaming can be addictive. Limit your time spent in game sites and take a lot of breaks. Check support groups if you find you develop a serious problem with addiction or gambling.
