Collecting Christmas Tree Ornaments is a hobby just like stamp and coin collecting. You need to focus on a specific theme or on specific ornaments for your family. There are thousands of different themes as well as the traditional ornaments to choose from. The following can help you narrow your search for the prefect ornaments for you and you family.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ornaments
  • Resources
  1. Step 1

Think about the things you and your family like. If you are into sports you may want to collect baseball or football or hockey ornaments. If you like Peanuts or Star Wars or Star Trek you could collect ornaments with these in mind. Or you may want to collect Santas or Rudolphs or Angels or some other Christmas theme.

  2. Step 2

Shop at stores and look for the items. You don't have to be shopping specifically for these items you may just see them while you are shopping for other things. Always grab them when you see them or other collectors may get them and you could be out of luck, especially if you are looking for hard to find ornaments.

  3. Step 3

Use your computer to find ornaments online at a lot of different websites. If your theme has there own website (such as Disney) you could find ornaments there, or you could look on eBay or Amazon to locate hard to find ornaments.

  4. Step 4

Subscribe to a service to receive ornaments on a regular basis. This means you can receive your ornaments every month or so and are able to collect your ornaments on a year round basis. There are a couple listed in the Resource section.

  5. Step 5

Keep an eye out for sidewalk sales and yard sales. One man's junk is another's gold.

  6. Step 6

Christmas ornaments sometimes choose you, not the other way around. Decorating a tree is something most people do therefore whatever you use to decorate it may turn into the hobby you never knew you had.
