Step 1
Know what to expect on the trip. This will vary depending on if you going on a travel coach or a mini bus. Coaches are larger and usually offer a smoother ride but there are more people on a coach. If the drive is long, ask if there will be breaks along the way. Obtain a copy of the itinerary before you go.
-
Step 2
Go with a reputable bus company. Make sure the company has a good safety record. Ask for references.
-
Step 3
Make sure the bus is air-conditioned. Often they have overhead vents and knobs that control the air flow. Make sure you can adjust the temperature or even turn it off if you get cold.
-
Step 4
Check that there is a toilet. You may not be stopping as often as you might need to stop.
-
Step 5
Know who will be on the bus. Find out if the trip is for seniors or if there will be families along with children. You may not want a full, overloaded bus.
-
Step 6
Look inside the bus. See if the seats are large and the aisles are wide. You want comfortable seats with lots of space and leg room. You might want a shade on the window. Check if there are overhead compartments for luggage.
-
Step 7
Ask if you can eat on the bus. Check if the tour company provides food and beverages.
