It can be hard to celebrate New Year's Eve with children because the parties are often not appropriate for kids and they have a hard time staying up until midnight. But there are many ways to celebrate New Year's Day with your children so that they too can start the new year off with a bang. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Make a time capsule. Have your children gather pictures, awards, small toys and other things that they like. Ask them write little notes to themselves to read in the future. Set a future New Year's Day date to open the time capsule.
Step2
Teach your children how to say "Happy New Year" in different languages. Look in translation books or go to the Enchanted Learning website.
Step3
Play New Year's Day games. Find all kinds of games, puzzles, coloring pages and stories for children online that will help your family celebrate the new year.
Step4
Talk with your children about the year gone by. Prompt them to discuss triumphs and things that they were not so proud of. Be honest and tell them the same about your life.
Step5
Help your children to create reasonable New Year's resolutions. Take this opportunity to teach your children about setting goals, both large and small. If your family made resolutions last year, discuss everyone's progress.
