Fixing up and remodeling antique cars is a hobby for many people. Car enthusiasts envision restoring their antique cars to their original beauty and splendor. Before you can dig into a restoration project, you need to know how to find parts for your antique car. Follow these steps to have your antique car rolling down the highway in no time.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stop by a junkyard or auto wrecker lot. There are so many unused parts floating around these lots, and the employees keep an inventory. Either give them a call to see if they have the part you're looking for, or stop by and take a look.

  2. Step 2

Buy a magazine dedicated to antique cars and parts. You'll find information about your car and where to find parts for it. Keep in mind that the parts listed in these magazines are usually more expensive; but they may be your best option.

  3. Step 3

Join an antique car club. You'll be able to talk with other car enthusiasts like yourself and form a network to find the parts you need.

  4. Step 4

Read the classified section of your local newspaper. People often list car parts for sale in classified ads and are willing to part with them at a reasonable price. Check out the condition of the parts before purchasing them. You could also place an ad listing a part you need.

  5. Step 5

Go to a local swap meet to see if anyone has parts they're willing to trade or sell at a low price. The likelihood of finding exactly what you need at a swap meet may be slim, but it's worth a shot, and you may make some good contacts.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try online auction sites such as eBay where people are selling parts that they no longer need.
