Instructions

1. Logon to Georgia's official website at ga.gov.

2. Click on "Agencies" and "Department of Revenue." Select "Tag and Title" and "Special Tag Examples and Requirements."

3. View the specialty license plates offered. Choose from college, government, military and special interest plates. Read over the specialty's license plate information. Note fees and eligibility requirements.

4. Download the form corresponding to the specialty license plate you are interested in acquiring. These forms are available on each specialty license plate page.

5. Complete the application. Provide your personal information and your vehicle's information as requested. Contact the sponsoring organization of the plate and advise them that you are placing an order for one of their specialty plates, if required.

6. Visit your county Tag office. Take your completed application, a valid identification card, your vehicle's current registration and an approval notice from the sponsoring organization (if applicable) with you.

7. Pay the required fees for your specialty license plate. Make a check out to the Office of the Tax Commissioner.

8. Pick up your specialty license plates from your county Tag office after you are advised that they are available.
