PayPal offers numerous ways to fund purchases when you're shopping online, including bank account transfers. Using your checking account with your PayPal account gives you an easy way to add funds to your account, as well as a quick way to withdraw funds, simply by transferring to your attached checking account. Plus, it's a great way to buy gifts. If you don't want a purchase to appear on your credit card bill, you should add a checking account to your PayPal account.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • PayPal account
  • Checking account

Add From the Account Overview Page

Step1
Log in to your PayPal account. Look for the "Add Bank Account" link on the "Account Overview" page and click on it. This link is only available if you don't already have a bank account associated with your account. You may add multiple bank accounts to your PayPal account, but you must choose one as a primary account.
Step2
Fill out all the required information on the form. You will need to have your bank account information handy, including the account and routing numbers, as well as the correct and full name of your bank.
Step3
Confirm your bank account by looking for the two small deposits PayPal will make to your account (these deposits will be under a dollar). If you don't have online bank-account access, call your bank and ask for the information. Deposits are made approximately 3 days after adding your account to PayPal.
Step4
Return to the "Account Overview" page of your PayPal account and look for the "Confirm Bank Account" link.
Step5
Enter the amounts of the deposits. You can now use the bank account to add and withdraw funds from your PayPal account.

Add From the Profile Summary Page

Step1
Log in to your PayPal account and click on the "Edit Profile" link that is found on your account summary page. You'll be sent to the profile summary page.
Step2
Locate and click on the "Bank Accounts" link in the "Financial Information" column.
Step3
Click the "Add" button found under the list of your current bank accounts.
Step4
Input all the information of the bank account you are adding and click the "Continue" button.
Step5
Confirm your bank account. After it has been confirmed, you may return to this page to make it your primary account.
