Step1
Use a ruler or tape measure to determine the dimensions of your GPS before you shop for a case. Record the size of your GPS to have ready when you are shopping.

Examine your GPS and locate the manufacturer's name and model or style number. Write down this information. Some companies sell cases that will fit only a certain brand or series.

Determine what your main use of a GPS case is. If you use your GPS out on a boat, a waterproof case may be the most practical choice. Other cases provide a clear plastic window so you can use your GPS in its case when hiking in inclement weather.
