How to Configure a User's Firewall for Slingbox

With the risk posed by computer viruses and other malware, it is important for you to maintain security on your computer.       Check the network connections for the Slingbox and the computer. The Slingbox and computer that is being used to access it should both be connected to the router.

      Check your router. It may have activity lights to indicate whether particular network jacks have devices connected.

    Set Up Firewall Software to Access the Slingbox

      Log into an administrator account on the computer. You may be making changes to the firewall settings and you will need administrative privileges.

      Disconnect the router from its Internet access. You will need to determine whether the firewall software is preventing the user from accessing the Slingbox.
