Have you had a difficult time when trying to return a product that is defective or misrepresented? Defective shoes that the store refuses to tack back? Here are some tips that can help you get a refund or replacement.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Speak with a customer service person at the store. If no resolution is provided, ask to speak to the manager.
Step2
If you cannot get any satisfaction from the store itself, call the corporate office and talk to the higher managers, usually they will tell the store manager to help you out. If not, go to the manufacturer and tel them what is wrong with the shoe and they usually will either get you new shoes or press the store you bought it from to do the right thing. ALso, if it is a chain store, go to a different store of the same company and see if they will help you. Often the quality of manager differs from store to store quite dramatically.
Step3
Get online, and email customer service. Let them know that you are going to call into customer service as well as write a letter. Explain the situation, and tell them that you will talk about your experience with your friends.

Talk directly to corporate headquarters.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep a record of your actions including names of people you dealt with while trying to resolve a problem. This can be handy for providing support for your case and for credit card dispute.
  • While making a scene at the store can work, it is not as effective as taking the bit more civil method of taking to the store manager, corporate or dispute via credit card.
