High blood pressure has become a major medical problem in the US. It has been called the' Silent Killer' and it's primary causes are not always known.
Although there are a number of medications used for high blood pressure there are also a number of natural steps that you can take to help lower your blood pressure.

Things You'll Need:

  • Medical checkup
  • Diet high in potassium
  • Fresh fruits, vegetables and grains.
  • Vitamin supplements
  1. Step 1

    Arrange to have a medical check up and talk with your doctor about the natural changes you can make to help control your high blood pressure.
    (Ask your doctor about the Dash Diet which is high in potassium and low in sodium.)

  2. Step 2

    Buy and eat the dairy products, grains, fruits and vegetables recommended in your potassium rich diet. Some foods that are high in potassium include: oatmeal, bananas, cantaloupe, avocados, yogurt and beets.

  3. Step 3

    Exercise moderately and take vitamin supplements as prescribed by your doctor. And continually monitor and record your blood pressure.

Tips & Warnings
  • A diet high in potassium can also lower the risk of heart attack; and strokes.
  • Check with your doctor before making any changes.
