You will need to evaluate if the family will have time to dedicate to piano study. A young child needs approximately 15 minutes of repetitive piano study each day until they are older. Because a toddler is not yet capable of independent study the piano teacher will expect parents to encourage the child to practice and monitor the child to help them play the music correctly and to remind them of their hand positions as they practice for the first few months.
Tips & Warnings
A piano teacher will teach your child the first three steps, but you will need to continue to reinforce it through the week, so already teaching it to your child would be helpful.
It's necessary to own a keyboard or piano before starting piano lessons.

Love the hands!I also find the Trebellina DVD very helpful for teaching children this age the concept of a note and how to read written music. -
