How to Buy a Wedding Toss Garter

Weddings are one of the most memorable days of a woman's life. Every detail has to be planned in advance right down to where and how to buy a wedding garter to toss. The "real" garter is often saved as a keepsake from that special day. When it's time to toss that garter, it's usually one that was purchased or obtained for that very event.

Instructions

    • 1

Shop at your local bridal salon. Viewing the actual garters in person is always a good idea especially if you are looking for a particular color or material. Consider spending most of your garter money on the one you will wear and purchase a less expensive one for the toss garter.

Browse through the local shopping malls at major department stores. Many stores have bridal and wedding departments or these items may be located within a department designated for special occasions or events.

    • 3

Talk to your seamstress that may have handled the alterations on your wedding gown or perhaps your gown was hand made. These talented persons may be able to hand make you "two" garters that will match your gown, one to keep and one to toss.

Stop in at hobby stores, fabric stores and party stores. Most all of these have sections devoted to wedding accessories where you will be able to find a garter. You may even decide to purchase the materials to make your own garter.

Tips & Warnings

  • Have your maid of honor or trusted friend to help keep your toss garter separate from the keepsake one. It will be one less thing you have to remember on that special day.
