Infidelity test kits for home use are able to detect traces of semen on material such as underwear. The test can be used so it does not stain or harm the article being tested. There are different tests available. A positive PSA test means the prostate specific antigen found only in semen is present. Using this test is easy.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Understand a little about the body to understand the test. After intercourse, a woman secretes a small amount of semen for up to 72 hours. This secretion continues after unprotected sex and even after showering. A man continues to secrete small amounts of semen after ejaculating as well.

  2. Step 2

Use the items provided in the kit to scrape the area that is to be tested or cut material around the area. Alternatively, you may wipe the area with provided swabs and chemicals.

  3. Step 3

Place the swabs or the cuttings or scrapings and the dissolution material into the micro-tube. Add provided chemicals and mix.

  4. Step 4

Apply the sample to the PSA cartridge in the kit. Results are ready in a few minutes. A change in color means the test is positive for semen.

Tips & Warnings
  • Consider getting professional counseling even if the test comes out negative. If you suspect infidelity, then there are definite relationship issues.
  • You can use the test even if the man has had a vasectomy, since semen is still produced but not sperm.
  • Dried semen can last for years on unwashed clothing. However, it will not be detectable once laundered.
  • Abstain from sexual intercourse if a woman is to be tested. This action will ensure that if semen is discovered, you can confirm infidelity.
