Buying a movie for someone in your life can be a sure bet. If the person is a movie-lover, you can get them an addition to their ever growing movie collection. Even if they don't watch movies that often, you can be sure that if you pick the right movie, it will be something that will give them years of enjoyment.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Inspect the movies that they already have. Not only will this give you an idea of what kinds of movies they like, but you'll be able to avoid purchasing any duplicates.
Step2
Ask them if they've seen any good movies in the theater recently. Again, this will help you figure out what movies they prefer.
Step3
Take them to the movies a couple of times. You can tell whether or not they liked it by their reaction afterward and they'll have no idea that you are actually doing some covert gift research.
Step4
Ask them about their favorite actors and actresses. You may be able to find a little-known movie starring their favorite that they have never seen before.
Step5
Buy the movie. You can find great deals online at warehouse movie stores like Amazon and Half.com.

Tips & Warnings

  • Include a gift receipt with the gift or hold onto it yourself, just in case they don't like the movie or they already have it.
  • You can also get them a movie in a genre they may never have expressed interest in, to get them to branch out.
  • Consider their age when choosing the movie. You don't want to buy a 12-year-old an R-rated movie.
