Step 1
Paint your face. Most goth dressers will start pale makeup, for guys and girls, along with dark red or black lipstick. For women, the eye makeup is also very dramatic. Dark, thick eyeliner and heavy black or charcoal eye shadow is key, and the look is not complete without a pierced lip or nose.

Step 2
Do the do. To dress goth you don't have to assume one particular hairstyle, but the norm seems to be dyed locks. Dye your hair a dark red or black. Use many styling products to get a spiked messy look and if you feel like pulling your hair up, make sure there is plenty of messy hair to hang mysteriously onto your face.

Step 3
Wear black. The style is often very romantic for women. Black or red corsets are worn with ripped black jeans or skirts. Guys tend to dress goth with black t-shirts and worn black pants. For both sexes, the shoes are military type boots with drawings or patches on every part of clothing that strikes an interest.

Step 4
Accessorize. Women who dress goth are drawn to clever bags with skulls or menacing looking creatures on them. Men and women are both seen with messenger type cloth bags with drawings or statements littered about. Jewelry can also be used to finish off the outfit. Silver rings and earrings for both sexes are the norm, and don't forget the piercings. You can also throw on a dog collar or spiked collar for a serious look.
