Pick a vase. It can be simple, but when you arrange artificial flowers a colored vase may be best. Colored glass or clay vases will help you hide the inner workings of your masterpieces. Choose a vase that is appropriate for the size and shape of the space and the arrangement you have in mind.

Make a grid. Use double sided tape to make a simple grid on the inside of the vase. This is best used for clear glass. If you have a colored vase, use the bottom of a can or other structure with holes drilled into it big enough to fit he stems you wish to use.

Choose different shapes and sizes. When you have a variety of flowers the effect will be more dramatic. Pick artificial flowers by color or shape, and place them together to ensure they compliment each other. As you arrange artificial flowers, you will want to cut some of the stems as you go, using wire cutters, to vary the height of the flowers.

Give them some room. Begin by placing some of the more prominent or larger flowers in the center. Surround them with fake greenery, but don't crowd the flowers together. Allowing space for movement and a natural curve to the stems will make your arrangement more aesthetically pleasing. Once you have the center at the best height and distance from each other, place the rest of the flower bunches around them in the remaining grids.

Add flare. By adding some fuzzy or glittery stems, you can arrange artificial flowers with more color than the foliage and petals allow. These can be placed sporadically within the arrangement for a hint of flare.
