Being a big spender is a way to attract attention to yourself. The ability to drop wads of cash without a second thought can put you into some people's good graces. Keep in mind in which circles you are currently running. What may work to your advantage in regard to the way you spend money in one set of circumstances can spell outright disaster in another.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Listen to other people's opinions about how they perceive people who spend a lot of money. A little homework here can give you valuable insight down the road to becoming a big spender.

  2. Step 2

Use your money to help other people out. Picking up the tab at a work lunch is a safe way to feel out other people's reactions to your financial lifestyle.

  3. Step 3

Make enough money in your day job to stay clear of insolvency. Spending your way into the poor house will accomplish nothing, big spender or not.

  4. Step 4

Spend money on certain pleasures that attract like-minded people. Expensive hobbies and habits naturally draw others that can afford them.

  5. Step 5

Ask around to see if there is a regular gathering spot for local big spenders. Sometimes auctions draw people with a great deal of money and watching how they do it can make a significant impact on your own spending style.

  6. Step 6

Read publications that support a big spending lifestyle. Books and magazines offer insight into the minds of the wealthy and upwardly mobile big spender.
