How to Be a Boxing Announcer
A boxing announcer is the MC of the ring. He or she gets the crowd amped for the bout, introduces the fighters with the bombast they deserve and even provides a little bit of entertainment for antsy fans between rounds and bouts. If you have the calling to be a boxing announcer as well as the persistence to go the distance, then a few steps should help you achieve the goal.

1
Know the sport inside out. To be a boxing announcer, you need to know all about boxing. It's important to understand different weight classes, be familiar with the fighters and even know the managers and promoters in the sport. Only once you're familiar with boxing can you be an effective announcer.
-
2
Dress the part. While boxing has been called a brutal sport, it is also known for the glitz and glam that surround it. The top announcers always shop up looking their best, since their physical appearance adds an element of excitement and seriousness to the event.

3
Develop a personal announcing style. While all announcers use a booming voice and rolling consonants to belt out the names and weights of boxers, the best in the business have an unmistakable personal style. Experiment announcing with your voice and try exaggerating features of how you speak to create your own style as an announcer.
-
4
Stay neutral. The best boxing announcers avoid boxing politics and disputed decisions. It's important to always remember that your job as an announcer is to announce all information and decisions with verve and enthusiasm and not to make commentary on any boxer's ability or any official decision.

After several searches on this topic I learned from another article from a major telecasting network that there is absolutely no manual, book, course, or anything official or thorough on how to become a pro boxing ring announcer. So this, although a small amount of info is the most I've come accross in 20 minutes of searching and I appreciate it for what it's worth. Remember that what comes from a person says only about that person and nothing else. "Pathetic" in this case describes only one entity and it is obvious who. Just look at the attitude of the CAPS of the person who posted b4 me, would you like to be his friend or even be around this person? Sorry, don'y know them so nothing personal, just thankful for the morsel of info offered. -

THIS IS PATHETIC. How vague. Do you mean TV Announcing or RING announcing? THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE! You should do your research before you do the fight otherwise you'll sound and look as pathetic as this article.
