Kitchen appliances such as a blender make it easier to prepare food and drink recipes. Blenders are designed for a quick clean up and can be easily unscrewed and reassembled. However, you should still use care when handling the parts during a clean up. Next time follow these steps to clean your blender.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Read and follow the manufacturer's instructions when cleaning the blender. Some blenders require hand cleaning and cannot be washed in a dishwasher.

  2. Step 2

Clean each part of the blender one by one. Remove the power cord from the socket and empty the blender. Unscrew all parts that can be removed.

  3. Step 3

Place the jar under running water to clear out all traces of food or liquid. Fill half of the jar with warm water and add a detergent solution. Place the lid on the jar and blend at high speed for 15 to 30 seconds. Rinse with clean warm water. For a deeper clean, let the detergent solution sit in the jar before rinsing.

  4. Step 4

Use a dry clean cloth to carefully wipe the blades or use a toothbrush to clean them with soapy water. To keep the blades sharp, avoid washing them in the dishwasher.

  5. Step 5

Spray glass cleaner on the base and trim of the blender. Rub off using a soft clean cloth or scrub with a soft toothbrush. Alternately, use a homemade cleaner of baking soda and water to clean the base and outside of the blender. Wash the jar with this mixture to remove odors.

  6. Step 6

Set the the clean blender components on a dish tray or towel and let air dry before reassembling the blender.
