You spend hours planning your wedding to ensure that every detail is in place for your perfect day. The last thing you want is one if those details falling out of place and ruining your dream wedding. By creating a backup wedding plan, you can prepare for mishaps and still have the perfect wedding.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Plan ahead. You must expect changes to occur in your wedding plan. You need to pick out the most important things for your wedding and plan what you will do if those things go wrong. Stay calm and remember that the goal is to get married regardless of problems that might occur.
Step2
Have a stand-in officiator. Talk with the person you want to officiate and ask them who stands in to officiate in case of an emergency. You need to find someone that you are comfortable with. Meet with the officiator to determine if you like their style and find out of they are available to be called at the last minute.
Step3
Choose a backup location, even if you are planning on having the wedding indoors. You must pick a location close to the main site so all of your guests will be able to make it. If you are planning an outdoor wedding, you need to have a backup covered location that can accommodate the wedding party and your guests.
Step4
Pick people to help. You must have people who are prepared to step in and help reroute your guests. You need to be sure that your helpers can give clear, easy-to-follow directions. If you plan on having ushers, this can be one of their tasks.
Step5
Go over the plan with the wedding party so everyone knows your backup plan. Make sure that everyone knows where the backup location is. If possible, have your stand-in officiator attend the dress rehearsal.
