How to Perform a Teleporting Card Trick
There are several ways you can perform the teleporting card trick. The idea behind all of them is to show the audience a card, make them believe it's in one place and then "transport" it to another by magic. People get a kick out of this trick because they think they know where the card is but it pops up in an unexpected place. Here's one way to perform it.

1
Invite someone to participate in the teleporting trick. Show them a standard deck of cards.
-
2
Fan the deck on a table or in your hands. Ask your participant to choose a card from the deck.
-
-
3
Ask that person to study the card and memorize it. Meanwhile, discreetly flip the bottom half of your card deck. You should have the top half of the deck with backs up and the bottom half with faces up. To your spectator, it looks like the entire deck is face down.
-
4
Have the participant place the card back on top of the deck. Request she stand up. While she's doing that and her attention is diverted, flip your deck around so that the bottom half is now the top half.
-
5
Deal 3 cards from the top of the deck. Ask the spectator who drew the card to cover the cards on the table with her hands to "keep them from getting away."
-
6
Flip the card deck over while your spectator's attention is on covering up the cards on the table. The bottom half is now again the top half of the deck.
-
7
Toss 3 cards onto the table and tell the spectator her card has now been teleported to them. Watch her delight in the trick when she turns the cards over and finds hers there.

Tips & Warnings
Fidget with your card deck so that movement during the teleporting trick isn't concentrated on a few motions.
Use whatever means you can to divert attention during crucial times such as jokes, conversation and compliments.
