Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Four thick bamboo poles
- Bamboo wind chime (large)
- Sisal garden twine
- Five attractive stepping stones
Step1
Choose an area for your garden attraction. An ideal site would be a private, open area that one could walk into and perhaps use as a meditation place.
Step2
Decide on the width of the bamboo garden attraction. A good width is about the size of an archway that one could easily walk through.
Step3
Drive two tall, 4- to 6-inch diameter bamboo poles carefully into the ground. Protect the ends of the poles while driving them securely into the ground so the poles do not split or crack.
Step4
Place a third bamboo pole horizontally across the two upright poles approximately 2 to 3 inches from the top and have someone hold it while you tie the bamboo pole securely in place. Tie in a neat, decorative criss-cross design with sisal twine to secure it across the two upright poles. The ends of the horizontal pole should extend several inches on each side of the upright poles for visual interest.
Step5
Secure a slightly shorter bamboo pole 10 to 12 inches below the first, using the same technique with the twine. The ends of the second pole should not extend as far out as the one in Step 4.
Step6
Hang a bamboo wind chime securely from the lower pole.
Step7
Add stepping stones leading into the bamboo attraction.
