Armchair quarterbacks and high school gridiron heroes alike can now live out their dreams. They can even do it with their fellow dreamers. The reason is fantasy football. Football watching takes on a whole other level when viewers not only root for their favorite team, but for the players on their fantasy football team. Here is how to host a fantasy football party.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Create your draft board or buy one for your draft party. A large white poster board or dry erase board is good. Print colored stickers or make index cards with each player's name and position. Use the board during mid-season to track points for each player. Color coordinate by position to make sure things are fair and make sure everyone's adhering to the rules.
Step2
Set scoring and trading rules now, before the season starts. Decide how many players can be on a roster and how many positions can start. This will lead to less drama later. Review league rules and nominate officers if needed. Officers may include a referee and a commissioner, depending on how deep your group gets into fantasy football. If money is involved, have a treasurer to keep up with the funds.
Step3
Start the festivities with everyone giving their team names. Put the team names at the top of the board. When a "coach" drafts a player, put their pick under their team name. Vote for the best team name and award the winner a prize.
Step4
Subscribe to cable or satellite TV sports package. It also helps to have a really big television. Make sure you have comfortable seating. Also, have enough snacks and "real" food to last the whole time.
Step5
Go the whole nine yards. Have access to a computer available. For a fantasy football draft party, attendees will want to look at online chat sheets and other information about injuries, stats and potential sleepers. If you are at mid-season, you can check on player stats as well.
