Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Determine the kind of oven you want. Most built-in outdoor ovens are gas ovens, although electric is also an option. It is important that you assess which of these ovens would best suit your individual purposes and make your decision accordingly.
Step2
Measure the area in which you will be placing the built-in oven. This is important, as buying an oven too small or too large for the allotted space is highly undesirable.
Step3
Keep in mind how the oven will look when it is "built-in" to the rest of the area and notice things like BTU level, warranty, and repair and service availability. Which oven you choose is entirely up to you. Each person has different needs and there are many different ovens.
Step4
Look for a certification that the oven is suitable for use outdoors. Some ovens claiming to be outdoor ovens may not have the proper agency certification that actually names them safe to use outdoors.
Step5
Confirm that the oven you have selected is compatible with the cabinets or boards you plan to build. Some ovens must be placed inside cabinets made by the same company as the oven.
