Instructions

    • 1

Sand the chipped area with sand paper. Do this until the rusted area is gone and the area is smooth. Once sanded, clean and dry the area completely.

    • 2

Cover the hole with a resin filler. You may find this at a local home and garden center. Apply the resin with a paint brush.

    • 3

Allow the resin to dry for approximately 15 to 30 minutes.

    • 4

Continue to apply layers of resin until it is level with the surrounding area. Dry after each application.

    • 5

Blend the surrounding area with the damaged spot with a cotton swab dipped in nail polish remover.

    • 6

Match the color of the porcelain with an oil based paint so you can paint the matching color onto the damaged area.

    • 7

Allow all paint and resin areas to completely dry before using the tub again.

Tips & Warnings

  • Open doors and windows when applying the resin. Keep it as well-ventilated as possible.

  • Paint light coats over the chipped area rather then a thick patching.

  • Porcelain is very sharp. Be cautious when cleaning up the dustings and working in surrounding areas.

  • Work solely in the chipped area. You do not want to scratch surrounding areas.
