From Quick Guide: Educational Software
Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Activate your GCompris educational program. Explore the different options available. GCompris uses pictures as options for navigation. Try the games and activities. Click through the different control bar options. Keep exploring until you have an understanding of what the program is about. It is designed for kids ages two to ten, so you should be able to quickly learn the program.

  2. Step 2

Set your personal configuration once you get comfortable with the educational program. Build your preferences based on how you want your child to benefit. Go to image selector and set how your kids could chose images. Chose the language that your program will use. Also select your courser shape.

  3. Step 3

Access the help file for specific problems. You won't find the "help" option on the menu tab, instead go to the menu and chose the help option from there.

  4. Step 4

Sit with your kids as they go through the program. This serves as a perfect opportunity for both of you to spend quality time together. Participate while your child is getting the hang of the program. Track your child's progress. Adjust your configuration and set up to constantly challenge your kids, otherwise they may lose interest in the program.

  5. Step 5

Get help online if you have problems with your software that you are unable to resolve. Go to the GCompris contact page. Choose "IRC Chat."
