How to Do Electrolysis

Unwanted excessive hair growth has plagued many people over the years. Effective methods such as electrolysis have proved to permanently remove all unwanted hair for persons with all hair types and skin colors. Done properly there is minimal discomfort. Listed here are steps to follow in removing your unwanted hair.

Things You'll Need:

  • Stainless steel needles
  • Alcohol
  • Sterile alcohol swabs
  • Mirror
  • Tweezers
  • Probe holder with attached pad
  1. Step 1

    Wash your hands and the area from which you will be removing hair.

  2. Step 2

    Relax in a comfortable chair at a table. Play some enjoyable music.

  3. Step 3

    Attach the pad to your wrist.

  4. Step 4

    Insert a probe into the holder. Be careful not to touch the probe itself in order to keep it sterile.

  5. Step 5

    Wipe the area clean with an alcohol swab. Each hair should be visible extending from the area.

  6. Step 6

    Place the probe right up next to the hair by using your mirror to guide you. Insert the needle and the electricity will begin automatically starting the timer as well. Wait for the beep and remove the probe. Be careful not to probe too deep.

  7. Step 7

    Take your tweezers and remove the hair. Wipe the area again with an alcohol swab. Proceed to the next hair until the electrolysis is complete for the entire area. Once completed, apply moisturizer to the area periodically to minimize swelling.

Tips & Warnings
  • Scarring and infections occurs when the probe is inserted too deeply. The tip of the probe should be in the middle of the internal and external root. Keep the area clean at all times to prevent post-procedure infections.
