Pigeons can be a pest and can even be dangerous in terms of bringing diseases to your home. Getting rid of pigeons can be difficult unless you know the correct process. Since it's a rather unique problem, there isn't much reference material available. However, after following a few steps, you should be well on your way to getting rid of pigeons.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You'll Need:

  • Pigeon repellent
  1. Step 1

Make your home less pigeon friendly. Dry up any standing water that may be attracting animals, including pigeons. Remove any food that the pigeons may be eating. If the population of pigeons is high, there's most likely a good reason for that to be the case.

  2. Step 2

Find out if pigeons are nesting on your property. If they are, begin to discourage their nesting by covering up any areas in which they commonly build their nest. A lot of times, pigeons will use attics and roof gutters to build their nests. If you secure these areas, that will discourage pigeons from returning to your property.

  3. Step 3

Buy pigeon repellent, a chemical used to remove pigeons from a certain place. It can be a good option; however, as with any chemical, this practice can be dangerous. Read the directions and warnings thoroughly before proceeding.

  4. Step 4

Contact a pest control specialist to get rid of the pigeons from your property. Shop around to get the best price. Go with the pest control specialist with experience dealing with pigeons as well as an affordable asking price.
