Condom isn't a dirty word anymore. It's a necessary birth control (and anti-STD) method for many single people, and even for some married folks. Condoms aren't hidden behind the drugstore counter anymore. They're available at many different places besides your local pharmacy, often for free. Here's a rundown on some of the locations where you can find condoms for free, and some of them may surprise you.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Party at trendy nightclubs. Many nightclubs have free condom samples on their premises. Sometimes the free condoms might be in a bowl or other dispenser. Occasionally, a marketing person might give them away.

  2. Step 2

Check for freebies on the World Wide Web. Condom manufacturers or sex toy shops offer free condom samples from time to time. General "free sample" sites also feature condoms, but you may have to browse through several listings to find them.

  3. Step 3

Hang out in college towns. College kids are on a budget, and they don't always plan ahead. That's why colleges, universities and businesses that cater to students sometimes offer free condom samples.

  4. Step 4

Live in New York City. The Big Apple recently instituted a condom giveaway program. Check official New York City websites for information on how to get free condoms or look for signs advertising the free samples when you're out on the town.

  5. Step 5

Make an appointment with your doctor or clinic. Most large clinics and many doctors' offices get samples of prescription drugs and medical products all the time, and that may include condoms.

  6. Step 6

Frequent gay or alternative lifestyle businesses. Many businesses that cater to gay men offer free condoms.

Tips & Warnings
  • Many businesses in San Francisco have free condoms through the Stop Aids Project.
