"Curb appeal" is the first impression that prospective buyers make of your home. It is the view of your home from the street and includes not only your house, but your lawn, garage and frontage. In other words, the total picture. Improve your curb appeal and enhance the sale of your property.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Clear the street in front of your house. Sweep away debris and pick up litter all the way to the corner. If necessary, turn a hose on the curb area to get it really clean.
Step2
Pick up and organize any visible garden tools or equipment. Neatly coil hoses. Clean away bikes, toy and extra cars from the driveway.
Step3
Weed all garden and shrub areas. Trim all shrubbery. This creates a feeling of order and prevision. Remove dead or dying shrubs, and any fallen sticks and leaves.
Step4
Mow the lawn. Water and feed it so it looks fresh and well cared for. Resod any bare spots.
Step5
Add a fresh coat of paint, especially to the trim. The manner in which the exterior of a home is maintained reflects the care given to the interior.
Step6
Sweep the roof. Clean the gutters and replace any shingles as needed. Trim tree branches back off the roof.
Step7
Take a photo of your home from across the street and another from the corner. Critique the pictures for what you notice and areas of improvement.
