With this trick, you don't throw your yo-yo on the ground and kick it across the room. You kick start a yo-yo by making a dead yo-yo move with your foot. The following steps will show you how to perform this cool trick.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Set the dead yo-yo up on its side in front of you so that it is sitting up with the string coming out and upward.
Step2
Put the loop of the string around the middle finger of your yo-yo hand and hold the string of the yo-yo in front of you.
Step3
Put the toe of your shoe on the yo-yo and pull the string taut with your hand facing downward.
Step4
Snap the toe of your shoe down off the yo-yo and toward the floor.
Step5
Watch as the yo-yo spins up toward your hand as the string rewinds.
Step6
Grab the yo-yo with your hand without reaching down for it, or work the yo-yo up and down with your hand until it gets close enough that you can take hold of it.
Step7
Practice until you can do this trick smoothly and easily. This trick looks neat if you can make it look effortless.
