There is a world record for just about everything you could imagine--just ask the folks at Guinness and Ripley's. Whether you would like to try to break a world record or just read about the people who have already done so, there is plenty of information on the web to feed your need. Use these steps to find world records online.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use your favorite search engine and input "world records." You should get numerous listings that include the many companies that track and promote world records, like Guinness World Records and Ripley's Believe It Or Not.

  2. Step 2

Enter a specific world record that you may be looking for, such as gum chewing, jumping rope or pogo sticking into the search engine to get specific results about the activity you think you could do.

  3. Step 3

Navigate around the world records sites to find out particular facts or read about how to register to try to break a world record of your own.

  4. Step 4

Visit Guinness World Records and browse through their video archives to watch world records being made and broken all around the world.

Tips & Warnings
  • All major bookstores carry the published editions of Guinness World Records to have as a handy reference guide at home.
  • If looking for authentic world records, avoid sites that don't advertise the methods they use or who do not authenticate the results before posting or publishing them.
