Camera, multimedia player and mini computer--the Apple iPhone is more than just a phone. For such a diverse device, the iPhone, with a touch screen, intergrated tutorials and automatic updates is fairly easy to use.

From Quick Guide: Apple iPhone Guide
Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Activate the phone. Download the latest version of iTunes from Apple's website. A tutorial will walk you through the activation process. Pick the phone plan that suits your minute use and personal needs.

  2. Step 2

Go online and take Apple's guided tours. They will walk you through using the basic features of the iPhone.

  3. Step 3

Spend an hour or so familiarizing yourself with the iPhone's basic features.

  4. Step 4

Arrange the home screen. Go to the iPod section and click on "Go to iPod," "More" and then "Edit." Drag your icons around on the screen until the page is arranged to your liking. You can also personalize the phone section.

  5. Step 5

Create a favorites list of your most frequently used phone numbers. You can do this by downloading the contacts from your computer and arranging them, or entering them, manually into the iPhone.

  6. Step 6

Download music, photos, podcasts, and videos onto the iPhone through iTunes.

  7. Step 7

Set up the iPhone calendar through iTunes. Transfer appointments from iCal (Mac), Entourage (Mac) or Outlook (PC) on the computer. You can also add appointments directly into the iPhone calendar.

  8. Step 8

Change the font size on the iPhone's Internet window to the smallest size. This will allow you to read more in the window. Use the iPhone's magnifying glass tool when you want to zoom in. Just tap the icon once and it will appear, then click on the area you want to zoom on.

  9. Step 9

Bookmark your favorite links on the web into Apple's RSS reader on your iPhone. Instead of putting in the full internet address, just post the equivalent RSS address as a bookmark. This will allow you to swiftly see if there is anything new and interesting on the site, without having to wait for the entire page to download.

  10. Step 10

Conserve battery power by turning off the accessories when you're not using them. The WiFi and Bluetooth technology on iPhone will drain your battery quickly if you leave them on all the time.

Tips & Warnings
  • Reset your iPhone by holding down the right button and the front "home" button for 6 seconds. Push the top button to turn the power back on.
