Step 1
Turn off the phone for a certain part of the day so you can focus without interruption or distraction. Phone calls such as wrong numbers and marketing calls will distract you from what needs to be done.
-
Step 2
Ask your family to treat your work day just like any other work day regardless if it is in the home or in an office. It is important that they recognize that your work is just the same as it would be in an office elsewhere. You have just as much responsibility.
-
Step 3
Turn off other distractions such as phones, cell phones, TV and anything else that can interrupt your train of thought. Ask family members or roommates to respect the quiet you need to finish your work and stay motivated.
-
Step 4
Make a list of everything you will complete in a day. Go through each task one by one and tick them off. You will feel a sense of accomplishment by doing this and it will help keep you on track and motivated.
-
Step 5
Put up pictures around your work space that can motivate you. If you have a dream of going to the tropics, put a beach photo up. If you have a dream of living in a beautiful house or having a beautiful car, then put photos of these up.
