Finding discount hotels can be a great way to save some money for the rest of your trip and various activities. If you save on your accommodation, you will be able to see more attractions and enjoy some fine cuisines. After all, a vacation is about getting out and about, not staying in your hotel room. Check out the ways you can find discount hotels for your next trip.

  1. Step 1

    Research online companies for discount hotels. A variety of online companies offer a variety of packages and discounted hotels. Companies such as Travelocity, Orbitz, Expedia, Travels.com and Cheap Tickets all offer packages at discounted rates.

  2. Step 2

    Ask your travel agent. Some travel agencies have partnerships with hotel companies and can offer you all kinds packages. Check with your travel agent and ask about discounted hotel deals.

  3. Step 3

    Look in the newspaper or a local magazine. Some hotels place discounted ads in the travel section of a local newspaper to attract future customers. Sometimes you might be lucky and find more than 50% off a night at a hotel.

  4. Step 4

    Check with your car insurance company to see if they have any travel discount programs. Some companies such as AAA and CAA give fabulous discounts to their members. If you are a member, you can get up to 45% at times and enjoy a variety of other discount programs on restaurants and car rentals.

  5. Step 5

    Ask your friends about where they have stayed and what type of deals they have gotten before. They might be able to refer you to their place of choice, and they might have a contact person who can offer a discount on your stay because of the referral.
