Step 1
Take note of outfits you have seen on your daughter before. Your wife knows best, so remember the clothes she picked out. Such information may come in handy when mommy is away.
-
Step 2
Think about the time of year. This seems obvious, yet some guys dress their little girls in shorts when it's below freezing and sweat shirts in July. If you're wearing jeans and a jacket, chances are your daughter should be too.
-
Step 3
Match clothing pieces accordingly. Casual tops (long sleeve cottons, knits or sweats) and formal wear (collared, buttoned down, lace, satin) should be paired with bottoms of the same color and material.
-
Step 4
Organize outfits together. Have someone with fashion sense match the clothes for you or have your wife put matching outfits together in your daughter's drawers and/or closet.
-
Step 5
Consider the finishing touches. Matching socks, shoes, berets, bows, freshly brushed hair and a clean face are the little extras that most men ignore.
-
Step 6
Choose easy to match clothes. Jeans or khaki pants (or shorts) go with practically everything. Make it easy on yourself by beginning your daughter's outfit with such easy to match items.
-
Step 7
Listen to your daughter's suggestions. Give her a voice in expressing herself through her clothing, providing she doesn't want to wear something inappropriate.
-
Step 8
Shop for your daughter. Go clothes shopping with your wife. Not only will this win you some extra points, but it will allow you to make a connection with the types of outfits that go together.
