Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Ask if you can post a notice about your side business on the company bulletin board and the board in the office break room.
Step2
Respond to requests for information quickly. Have brochures or leaflets ready to hand out. This way, your coworker can read on her break instead of taking company time to discuss your business.
Step3
Request those who are ordering from you to fill out the order form and leave it on your desk or in another appropriate place. Get back to them on during your break or lunch time if you have questions about their orders.
Step4
Fulfill orders during your breaks or at lunch time. Let your coworkers know that their orders came in, or even leave their products at their desks. Deal with any issues or questions during your breaks or other free periods.
Step5
Advise your boss that you only operate your business during your free time. Most of the time the boss is fine with your business; she may even be one of your best customers. Just make sure your office work does not suffer.
Step6
Respect a "no." Not everyone is interested in your product. When you do get a rejection, simply thank the person and leave it at that. If your boss won't let you sell products or services in the office, don't argue. Accept the decision.
