How to Be Romantic After Twins

Although having twins is a blessing it's also very stressful. You will find yourself taking your stress out on your spouse because he or she is the one closest to you. That can definitely kill the romance. Follow these steps to learn how to keep the romance alive after having twins.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Step1
Get your children on a routine of scheduled naps and bedtime. If the bedtime is too late for you and your spouse to get romantic then move the bedtime back five minutes a week until you feel they're going to bed early enough. Your twins will never notice.
Step2
Take advantage of naptime to be romantic. It's early enough that you're not wiped off your feet yet but just enough time to enjoy yourself with your spouse and indulge in a little romance.
Step3
Have sex. Although it may seem awkward at first, sex is the deepest connection a couple can have. Make it spontaneous and fun by having sex in interesting spots during the day when the kids are napping.
Step4
Put the children to sleep in their own bed. When your children sleep in your bed it limits what you can do and kills the romance. Your bed should be for you and your spouse.
Step5
Reserve a date night. Once a week or every two weeks have a trusted friend or family member watch your twins while you go out. Dress up. Enjoy each other and the quiet time alone to fuel the romance.
Step6
Make your spouse your best friend. Confide in each other about how you feel being parents of twins. It's not easy and it's okay to be frustrated and vent to each other about it. It will deepen your connection and ignite a little romance.
