Plugins in Trillian Pro offer more options and functionality that does not come in the basic version of Trillian. There are plugins that allow you to connect to even more messenger services, check your email through Trillian and keep up with news feeds. Plugins for Trillian are simple to download and easy to install.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Find and download the plugin that you want. There are many plugins offered on the Cerulean Studios website, which is the entity that controls Trillian. There are separate categories such as entertainment, communication and tools from which you can download plugins. Once you find your plugin, download it to your Trillian directory on your computer.
Step2
Run the file to install the plugin. Make sure you have Trillian closed before you try to install the plugin. Check to make sure that there is not a ".zip" at the end of the file. Some systems may try to change the program to a zip file automatically. If this happens, delete the ".zip" before you open the program.
Step3
Follow the prompts from the installer. Point the installer to the plugins directory in the Trillian Pro folder. Press the "Go" button to extract the plugin to the right location.
Step4
Open Trillian Pro and go to the preferences menu. Select the plugins option in the preferences window. Find the plugin that you just installed and check the box next to it to enable it.
Step5
Press the "Change" button under your desired plugin to configure the plugin to suit your needs.
Step6
Close Trillian Pro and restart it to make sure that you plugin is functioning properly.
