Pregnancy for some is more of annoyance than anything else. While some women enjoy feeling the baby move, and enjoy the feeling of having a new life growing inside of them, other women would happily give up the body changes, weight gain, morning sickness and exhaustion that comes with pregnancy. But even if you hate being pregnant, there are some things you can do to handle your pregnancy gracefully.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stop complaining, especially to co-workers and friends that don't care. If they've heard you complain once about morning sickness, exhaustion and aches and pains, they don't need to hear it again.

  2. Step 2

Vent to women who understand. Find other pregnant moms or other new moms to complain to. They understand what you're going through. You can also find a pregnancy forum to vent to. The other readers don't know you, and if they don't want to read your post, they don't have to. Simply typing out your problems and complaints about the way you're feeling may help you feel better.

  3. Step 3

Work with your body's changes. Gain weight appropriately. For a singleton birth, you should be gaining thirty to forty pounds over the course of ten months. While it may seem fun in the beginning, try not to "eat for two." In addition, you can handle your body's changes if you're eating healthy, getting plenty of sleep and making exercise a priority.

  4. Step 4

Change your stress level. It may be easier to handle your pregnancy gracefully if your stress is managed. Cut back on your work hours, see a counselor, meditate, journal and exercise plans are all great ways to manage your stress.

  5. Step 5

Bond with your unborn baby. Spend some time each day talking to your baby, stroking your belly and enjoying their movements. Try playing music or shining a light onto your abdomen to see if your baby responds with movements. Think about names and dream about who this baby will become. There are hypnosis tapes and prenatal yoga classes that also emphasize bonding with the baby.
