1
Upload the Pagemaker program. A screen will normally pop up with the templates for you to select. If it fails to do so, click on "New" then "Templates" or click on the far left icon of your toolbar, which is the shortcut for "New."
-
2
Click on the "Category" drop down menu for a selection of template varieties. Select the category of your choice. For example if you're looking to make a car wash flyer then you would click on "Flyers."

3
Browse through the thumbnails of the Pagemaker templates. Though you're unable to see the actual template clearly you can get an idea for the layout style and colors.
-
4
Verify that you have all the necessary fonts on your computer before using the template. You can check this by looking in the upper right side of the template window, then checking your Adobe Type Manager program to make sure the font is activated. If it is not, then click on it to activate it, then restart Pagemaker.
-
5
Hide the tips production box by clicking on "Window" and "Show Layers." Click on the box to the far left next to the "Tips" layer. This will hide the box so it does not print. If you need to use printing tips then you can show the layer again.
-
6
Replace all the text and graphics with your information. You can change the type size and specifications to fit your own information. If you don't want certain headings then delete them.
-
7
Save the file to a documents folder or portable media. If you're going to be taking it to a print shop then make sure you include all your fonts and graphics on your portable media. Now you're ready to print it.
