Check out Clark's Trading Post, on the western end of the Kancamagus. Watch the famous trained black bear act, or take a ride on the wood burning train and visit the Wolfman if you dare!
Step5
Hike the Lost River Gorge and Boulder Cave. Guests follow a boardwalk deep into the river valley and explore dark caverns with spine-tingling names such as the Cave of Silence and Shadow Cave.

Tips & Warnings

  • The White Mountains are a perfect destination in the fall for foliage enthusiasts and in the winter for its many ski resorts.
  • If you are looking for discounted lodging, stay in one of North Conway's neighboring towns, such as Bartlett, Conway or Jackson. The hotels, campgrounds and resorts tend to be cheaper, even during the peak season of July and August.
